Nov. 4--Earlier this month Goldman Sachs, a participating lender in the creation of the Dakota Mountain Lodge, took over full ownership of the property from Lee Hindin's DuVal Development Partnership.

Hotel spokesperson Cindy Lawrence said the recent change in general managers at the lodge was loosely correlated with the change in ownership.

The new owner of the hotel and homeowner association is MLQ DML Hotel. That is an entity created by the Archon Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs out of Irving, Texas. The new president is Todd P. Giannoble.

A quick Google search of Giannoble and his vice presidents Marissa Anderton, Gregory Fay, Ronnie Barger and Richard Frapart reveal that they are the heads of numerous vacation-related businesses in Texas, Florida and elsewhere.

Andrea Raphael, spokesperson for Goldman Sachs, explained that Archon is a real estate arm of the New-York based mega-corporation.

"Archon Hospitality, a subsidiary of Archon Group currently oversees 347 hotels across 42 states and 21 brands and is one of the largest independent hotel management and asset management companies in the U.S.," she said via email.

A statement emailed from Lawrence said the transfer was "consensual" and that Goldman Sachs has a long history of working with Hilton Worldwide.

Hilton is the property manager for the hotel, and the brand of the Dakota Mountain Lodge is part of Hilton's Waldorf-Astoria Collection. But the physical facility, including Spruce

Restaurant and the homeowner association's L.L.C., belonged to Hindin, and now Archon.

The statement sent by Lawrence also said the hotel does "not anticipate a disruption of service, or any impact on the resort's operations or workforce."

Hindin was partners with Sheldon Kamins and Reza Fakhrieh.

According to listing agent Court Klekas of Prudential, the Dakota Mountain Lodge sales office lease at 354 Main Street belonged to DuVal, so negotiations are underway for Archon to possibly obtain it.

Klekas said Archon has been an involved participant from the very beginning and that Kyle Kendall was their representative on the ground. Kendall is described by the Archon Web site as a director.

Hindin did not return repeated calls to his cellular number.
